Name: Shengyu
Age: 28
Starting Planet: Earth
Race: Human
Transformation Path: Human
Racial Traits: Good Bargain, Wealthy, Intelligence
Items: One Time Use Space Pod
Fighting Style: Balanced
Faction (Optional): Earth Defense Force
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance:
Personality: Shengyu is still a criminal at heart in spite of her attempt of trying to turn her life around from being a gangster to being a goodhearted officer who wants to protect the streets. Shengyu can be described as an opportunist with a little bit of heart. Ultimately, she only values herself and tries to see what she can get out of something or someone. She'll lie, cheat, steal, whatever it takes. It highlights her selfish tendencies, surprisingly, when she unintentionally doesn’t mean to. It doesn’t mean she has little to no care for others as she does demonstrate worry for other’s well being, something that has recently developed over the years as she joined the Earth Defense Force. She isn’t afraid to express care and concern when needed, or at the very least, well deserved. When she was out on her own during her time in a gang, it can be a habit to be selfish.
Regardless of Shengyu’s seemingly selfish nature, she is a surprisingly considerate individual even if she may not display it properly since her time in the EDF. She’s aware of her selfishness along with her other flaws of ignorance and getting caught in her lies. She takes pride in not just what she does, but also who she is as a person. She’s a woman who regularly has no regret in most actions done, but she has enough integrity to admit her wrongs, even if it kills her on the inside. She’s very friendly and always plasters on her mischievous smile. Her lightheartedness and banter may be seen as charming or absolutely annoying, maybe both. She usually has something fresh to say, but she normally doesn’t mean no harm depending on the circumstances.
In spite of learning to be more cooperative and considerate with other people's feelings and opinions, Shengyu isn't the most cautious person in the world. She can get reckless; caught in the moment of danger that can send a thrill. While she does end up making a plan and being more heedful of the situation, it's more in character for her to face danger head on and take it as is. It's only more fun for her to make stuff up on the fly while navigating through danger, but since her arrival to the EDF, she became more vigilant with her actions.
No matter how dire something is, Shengyu always stays positive and keeps a cool head in dangerous situations. It’s a complement to her more laid back and casual attitude when it comes to most encounters. She taught herself that all situations are best handled with a calm front, even if there are times where she wants to scream and break everything in her path. But she’s not immune to losing her cool or temper. She can panic, maybe go a little hysterical if she can’t handle it, and even go as far as to harshly snap at someone.
History: Born into poverty and struggling to get by everyday, Shengyu was all on her own to survive. At the time, all she wanted was to improve the hellish life she was brought into by two irresponsible parents who only wanted temporary and quick gratification, now forced to raise Shengyu together. Her father made himself more involved with his only daughter, whereas her mother was rarely ever in the picture.
A broken family resulted in Shengyu being broken herself; rarely ever coming home, getting in trouble frequently with the law, hanging around with the wrong crowd, etc. Despite her need to improve her condition, she was overtaken by living a good time instead of a long one. Her father became frustrated with the lack of authority he had over Shengyu and the lack of support he had from her mother and eventually abandoned her. The abandonment only drove her further down the road of crime and other wicked acts.
As a teen, Shengyu was a part of a gang called the Silver Warriors led by a rich kid that rebelled against his father's vision of his own future. They were notorious for drug smuggling and carrying out hits. Being young as she was, Shengyu sold drugs to make money for both herself and the gang. She saw the gang as her real family in spite of their circumstances and activities for survival and affirmation of domination. Without her parents, they became her new role models.
Shengyu slowly rose into the ranks, gaining respect and recognition not only among the gang, but also in the streets. Other gangs and criminals were becoming aware of her name. Part of the attention was positive, but others were more than prepared to put a target on his back because of his affiliation with the Silver Warriors. Either way, all attention was good attention. The acknowledgement made Shengyu hungry for more appreciation of her work. She was willing to do more than whatever it took to get more of her name out there.
Behind the back of her leader, Shengyu organized a heist that'd launch them to infamy... Yet all it took was one slip up before everything fell apart. A rat was among them that immediately notified the Earth Defense Force that in time led a shootout to happen. The majority of the Silver Warrior members died from the event and the few survivors, Shengyu included, were turned in and arrested.
Many of the members faced jail time, but Shengyu was seen as a special case amongst the gang due to her reputation and skill set she displayed. She was somewhat seen as valuable and could put her assets to good use in the EDF. Shengyu was offered a position in the faction, but initially she refused. She was then threatened with serious imprisonment time of 50 years, but Shengyu knew if she were to accept this offer, she'd no longer be recognized as the skilled woman she once was in the Silver Warriors, but instead someone that sold out.
Between being in prison for 50 years versus being a cop to avoid jail time, it was obvious she chose to become an EDF officer. It was an opportunity to turn her life around and do good. The street kid was taken out of the street, but for Shengyu, you can't take the street out of the street kid.

"I'm not tellin' you shit."
Silence fell in a dimly lit room were two people that sat across each other on a slightly worn out table: an EDF officer with a folder in his hand and a roughened up Shengyu with a noticeably bloody nose with a handcuffed to the table. An operation, she orchestrated behind her leader's back gone completely wrong, which led to the death of many Silver Warrior members. Everything she thought she planned out perfectly fell into pieces in a matter of minutes. She thought she was attentive enough to recognize any potential holes or dangers in her plan, but it seemed she was too overconfident to be more careful than she was.
Shengyu stared at the officer after she had spoken with her eyes narrowed and the corners of her mouth facing down, but the officer offered her nothing but a dull look while he casually spun the pen around his fingers. He finally stopped to hold the pen, but began to tap it against the folder. "You don't have to tell me anything, sweetheart." The patronizing tone in his voice made Shengyu grit her teeth in irritation. When she was about to open her mouth, the officer swiftly continued.
"Because one of your buddies told us everything we needed to know."
Shengyu's mouth was agape, but nothing came out. She was in pure shock and the widen eyes and shot up eyebrows were clear indicators. "You're bullshitting me." She wanted to believe it wasn't true. She wanted to believe that it was all her fault that everything came crashing down. In some way, Shengyu was relieved to a certain degree. Unless stated otherwise, there wasn't too many flaws in her plan. Except the only regret she might have now was being too trusting. "Who, then? Who the hell was the rat?" She leaned forward as she demanded for an answer.
The officer's lips curled into a cocky smirk, amused at Shengyu's little outburst. "I'm not tellin' you shit." A pure petty comeback that made Shengyu's blood boil, but he went on. "It doesn't matter who did it. What matters now is that you and your buddies are looking at 50 years in prison." Shengyu winced at the years she'd potentially end up with. She was damned, even more so that she needs to get a pretty damn good lawyer to somehow lessen the sentence.
"But I'm willing to make a deal with you. You won't even have to go to jail." Shengyu jerked her head back in confusion. Her eyebrows scrunched together from being taken back from what was just heard. No, this sounded almost too good to be true. "Look, Shengyu. We know who you are. We know how good you've worked with the Silver Warriors and how you move in these streets. If we didn't have our informant, that little heist of yours probably would've worked out in your favor." Shengyu rolled her eyes in response. As if that were supposed to make things better.
"So you want me to sell out." There was no other way to beat around the bush about this. "Nuh uh. Not taking it. I'm not going to go against my gang like that. Not after the reputation I've made for myself. Call it a prideful thing, but I'd rather much be remembered by what I've done in the streets than to be remembered as a sellout. Much less some EDF cop."
The officer chuckled at Shengyu's hardened resolve and shook his head. "Don't play yourself like that. We both know reputation means nothing when you're in prison. You'll be forgotten in two years and change, max. And, to be honest, you haven't done much to really have some sort of legacy to emulate." Shengyu fell silent once again, this time her eyes glued to the table. There was some truth that Shengyu refused to embrace and she hated it. She hated it a lot, the former part of his little speech, that is. The latter was all just bullshit to trigger her.
"Last chance, do you want to spend the rest of your life behind bars or turn over to the light?"
