With the recent news regarding the mysterious attacks across South City, Moire had made her way down to check out the situation for herself. From what she was told on the news, it seemed like this crazed criminal has been doing this for several weeks now, attacking seemingly random people in the streets. Nothing was ever stolen from them, nor was anyone killed as a result of these attacks. All that really happened was that in one moment everything seems to be completely normal, and then the next moment the mysterious attacker strikes, locating one particular person and beating them until they fall unconscious. The attacker has taken all all sorts of people, from the frail elderly to young teenagers to even muscle bound competitive lifters. Whoever was doing this, they were certainly quite powerful and fast enough to take on such opponents and get away before anybody else can catch them.
Moire herself debated bringing someone else along with her to act as backup, but she was confident that she could handle this on her own. Besides, she didn't want to bug anybody to come along to find this stranger and bring them to justice, not to mention that some of them might be busy trying to handle their own situations. Of course it also begged the question as to why she was even bothering going herself, but it mostly came down to it being the right thing to do. Besides, if it turns out that this attacker is a lot stronger than she realizes, then perhaps she might get some serious training in against this guy. Moire's rather confident that she can take them on by herself, but she won't truly know until she comes face to face with the attacker. When the time comes, she won't be showing mercy considering what they've been doing to the population of South City.
In the middle of the night, a few minutes past midnight, Moire finally touches down in the city, the streets mostly empty and with few cars traveling about. A few stray strangers linger amidst the alleys, smoking from cigarettes, drinking their booze and giving the new arrival a glare, whether it be because she's a majin and Liari's attacks still linger in their mind, or if they just don't want strangers around their business. So long as they manage to stay out of Moire's way, there's no reason for her to butt in unless she has completely run out of options. Again, this perpetrator is quite elusive, and the police of the city have been having a tough time trying to pin them down and corner them. Of course, they aren't exactly as powerful as Moire, nor do they have access to her sort of magic.
Moire takes a moment to recall the information that the news anchors have been sharing regarding the suspected attacker, mentioning that all of the attacks have been located within the outskirts of the city in the middle of the night, more specifically the western outskirts of the city at around midnight. The majin could already be too late to intervene, but perhaps one thing she could do was give herself a tool to assist her in tracking down the attacker. She remains in place for a moment as she glamps her two hands together, smoke suddenly enveloping the pair. As soon as it came, the cloud dissipates, and in her hand was a standard police-grade radio, already set to the current alert frequency in case an officer reports something in the radio. That way, she can at least hear what's happening on the police's end and maybe piece a few things together that they can't, or even chase someone down faster than them.
Minutes later, Moire continues her patrol down the various different rundown streets of the outskirts, keeping a close eye out for any sort of suspicious activity. Unfortunately for her, it seems like everything was rather quiet tonight, which was quite strange given how busy even the outskirts can be with crime. Perhaps it's because of this new arrival that's scared off the criminals into going into hiding until the threat is gone. Moire didn't really know for certain, but what she does know is that she isn't getting anywhere anytime soon. She sighs to herself and was about to call it a night before the police radio in her hand suddenly spoke out, a gruff man's voice stating that there had been another attack on Thrif Street, a street she had passed about a minute ago. There was some policemen barking orders to go search the area, but the majin was already on top of it as she immediately blasts off in the direction of Thrif Street, looking around to see if she can find the culprit from above.
Though it took her a bit to see anybody on the ground due to just how dark it was, she catches a moving shadow diving from alleyway to alleyway, and knew that she must've found her target. The police can take care of the victim, there isn't much more that Moire can do for them. Right now, she's intent on making sure that this crook ends up behind bars so that they can no longer cause any harm to the innocent. The majin dives right for the culprit, and though they were surprisingly fast, Moire was still faster, and soon enough she was gaining on them. With how loud she had been blasting through the sky and eventually the alleyways, the criminal most certainly noticed that Moire was tailing them, and she's sure that they were trying to figure out how to shake them.
They won't get another chance as Moire extends her hand outward and immediately fires a single ki blast at the crook. It hits them in the leg, and they are sent tumbling across the concrete ground. Moire stops several feet in front of the criminal as they get up from the ground. Now that she was up close and personal, she notices that the figure was dressed in black boots, jeans, a black sweatshirt and dark brown gloves, with a hood covering enough of their face to obscure their identity. "I'm going to have to ask you to stop right there," she orders as she prepares another ki ball in one of her hands. The hooded figure stands silently at Moire for a few seconds, but as soon as the majin tried to slowly approach her target, the crook immediately springs to life, firing off a sudden barrage of yellow ki blasts at her.
In reaction, Moire fires off her own blast, though it misses all of the projectiles and instead hits the target once again. The rest of the ki blasts meet their mark, and Moire takes the full brunt of the stranger's firepower, blasting apart bits and pieces of her outfit and brusing bits of her purple skin. The damage wasn't much, but it wasn't like it hurt as she grunted with each successive ball of energy impacting her body and causing smoke to cover the alleyway. In a bout of quick thinking, Moire breathes in as much as she can before expelling all of the air she had taken in, blowing away the smoke and clearing the alleyway of the cloud. She catches the target limping around the corner of the alleyway and immediately continues her pursuit, knowing that the job seems to be almost over already.
As Moire begins to round the corner, a gloved fist comes out from the streetway and lands square in her face. She's forced back a bit from the impact, but quickly reaches out and extends her left hand to grab hold of the perpetrator's wrist before yanking them back into the alleyway. She gives her target a swift kick, hearing a masculine groan emanate from her target as she takes the opportunity to rub her face with her other hand. With her left hand she reaches forward and grabs hold of the crook's hood, pulling it back to see what lied behind the hood. For but a brief few seconds, all she could see from the man's face was that he was completely bald, had white skin, possesses blue eyes and... Was that a majin mark on his forehead?
Her thoughts are interrupted as the man begins to scream in pain, his body bulging suddenly before exploding right in front of Moire, sending her crashing through a nearby brick building. The rubble of the building falls on top of Moire as her vision begins to fade, her mind still fixated on that majin mark she saw. She didn't know why, but that mark... That mark might've been what she's been looking for the whole time... The majin closes her eyes as she begins to fall unconscious as a few more bricks land on top of the pile of rubble. The city is now safe of the vile serial attacker, but only one person would ever come close to understanding what his motivation really was...
