As if it was time to get rid of loose ends of her abilities, Ayu decided to practice more. Do whatever she needed to achieve a certain level and for that, she had to remember what she was able to do. It was a blur, to be honest... She trained before, when she lived alone, and then later when Liari and Terra appeared but her only goal was to keep her own power in check. Everything she learned on the way was like a side-effect of her trying to reach this one and only goal. A barrier, dodging technique, then her ability to purify toxins... Yeah, that one was there too. Ayu didn't like to leave things unfinished where there was room for improvement and the technique that allowed her to clear the poison out of anyone's body was one of those. The other things, she could tackle on different occasions - but how to train something like Purifying technique? Well, poisoning herself and then clearing it out of her system was one thing... Though that was risky and unpleasant and she didn't want to try something like that now. Who knows how would her body react and what could happen?
Anyway, hoping to be able to polish this ability, Ayu was thinking about it for the past few days. Just how could she learn it? They say that the practice was perfect but for the lack of it she couldn't train and intentionally inflict someone with toxin or dark magic just to improve - well, that was unacceptable. But the practice wasn't the only thing that she could do when she was here, on the Lookout.
The theory was great too. Maybe for most, it wasn't a good way of learning, especially if fighters needed to polish their instincts and bodies but Ayu wasn't one. With that thought, one evening she descended into the lower levels of the ancient temple, looking for the library with a lamp in one hand. The Lookout was old and huge and there was this place filled with scrolls, old tomes, and books as big as she was tall, full of forgotten knowledge and stories from long ago. Surely, there will be something interesting? She hoped. Reaching the right room, she entered it without hesitation, the lamp burning bright as to light up the whole place... It was enormous. The Lookout was more than it seemed and the library was old and comforting in its wistfulness and quiet. Ayu loved to come here often, browsing through the books that she wanted to read, and learning more about the Earth's history and magic. It gave her a sense of belonging. A little bit at least.
With that thought, she placed the lamp on the table and started to look through the tomes around her. She browsed through the thick books looking into anything related to magic and purification, nullifying the toxins and the dark arts that could corrupt the body. There was none at first, then some scarce information, until she found a whole set of books, and the pile on the table started to grow with every tome she placed there... Now, a studying session was on. That kind of reminded Ayu of the times when she attended the high school near East City, preparing just like that for exams or when she was self-studying herbs. Oh, right, her herbs... Maybe it won't be a bad idea to venture into the wilderness with her herbarium again? Though if she could create any type of plant what was the point... Still, that was something she needed to get back to after she learned what she wanted. Placing some of the parchment and a pencil in front of her, Ayu reached for the nearest book, making notes when something caught her attention. There was a lot of information here and fishing out the details that she needed would need time and focus.
Purifying, in Ayu's case, was the act of changing her energy and giving it properties that could nullify the toxins in one's body. Anything could be a poison or medicine, it all depended on quantity... And quality too. In this world everything was made of chemical structures too so - wait, was it strange that she started to use scientific thinking when explaining magic? Ayu scratched her head and sight. At least this part of this ability could be described that way. Other than that, no logic could explain why her energy could be bent and shaped into something that could get rid of dark magic. Less than toxins but she could take away the hindering effect on anyone's body if it was made by a harmful spell. Would it be possible to make it more effective? That was what Ayu was trying to learn, writing down full paragraphs about magic and poisons. And with that, it seemed that her energy could last longer, injected into the body of the patient. Similar to how the Heal worked, Ayu used it to mend bodies but in Purify's case, she might be able to leave the traces of her power in someone's system. Not because of malicious intent, no, the Ki wouldn't stay there forever - but for some time it would prolong the cleansing effect, making sure that no poison could harm this very individual.
That sounded and felt very useful. Ayu nodded to herself, writing down this thought and creating a small orb of glowing Ki in her hand. How to make it last longer... While using Purify the energy changed from pale gold into pure white and stayed like this for a second. The trick was to make it stay in this cleansing form for longer so that was her training, backed up by the long hours of studying. And maybe with some luck, knowledge, and practice, she'd polish this skill... So she wanted and that was her plan for this night.
When morning came, Ayu looked at the orbs gently flowing in the air right above her head. They were white, gleaming softly with pure power that was made out of both magic and Ki... They were able to stay this way, emitting this cleansing property for as long as possible. The study session was a success, indeed.
