The paths that crawled their way through the forest were many, but the one Sobi took was particularly peaceful. The sun shone through the forest in god rays that highlighted the beauty of a nearby stream. The green of the leaves being pulled out by the sunshine and the oranges that were on their edges. The forest flour was a dirt brown with dead leaves, the stream below her was filled with scattered little green leaves. The stream was narrow, flowing in the river under a small walk way bridge.
Sobi currently sat upon the bridge, her legs hanging off the sides while she simply enjoyed the moment. Her eyes watching the world as birds flew around, a turtle was at the waters edge... A fox would dart by as well. Though she was watching, she wasn't particularly taking note of anything. The girl simply basking in the moment while her memories of the past played out before her. She missed her home, she missed her friends... she missed everyone.
A tear formed in her eye as she thought about the hard times she has had recently. She wondered if Sankishin was even here anymore... She couldn't find her savior anywhere. No one had seen him... He could be anywhere... what if he had died? Her heart froze up at the thought... no he was alive! She knew it! He had to be! Leaning against the bars of the bridges hand rails, the girl closed her eyes and began to pray fervantly for the safety of her god. Surely she would find him... she had to!

As Callion flew over the forest, he couldn't help but notice the serene atmosphere that surrounded him. The trees and wildlife seemed undisturbed, and the sound of the stream below was calming to his ears. The Saiyan had been wandering the planet for a while once the situation at South City had calmed itself down, his new purpose having been made with the restoration of the Z Fighters. As a Saiyan, he was always looking for a good fight, but lately, he had been feeling the need to fortify himself a true home of operations.
Whilst he kept flying across the bountiful skies, Callion couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of his surroundings. The sun was beginning to set, casting an orange glow over the trees and the nearby stream. The sound of rushing water filled his ears, and he could hear the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze. It was in this moment, however, his keen senses picked up on the presence of another being nearby.
Suddenly, he spotted a small stream and a bridge crossing it. He decided to land and take a break. As he approached, he noticed a girl sitting on the bridge, her eyes closed in prayer. Callion hesitated for a moment, not wanting to disturb her, but something about her seemed familiar. Curiosity piqued, Callion descended and landed near the small walkway bridge. “Strange…” Callion thought in his head, his eyes kept a close look at what he was looking at before him. The more the Saiyan approached the girl that was in prayer on the bridge, his senses honed in on something else - a presence, a power, that was unfamiliar to him. He felt a tingling sensation run up his spine as he approached the bridge.
During this time, Callion kept his power level very much down. Not too much that made anyone suspicious doubt his power as he was flying in the air… A reasonable… Eeeeh, 10,000+ due to his height, the muscles he was packing, and the heavy appearance of his Orange and blue gi that he wore. “Hello ma’am.” Callion greeted her, slowly walking closer with a more careful step as he approached her. “Is everything alright?” He’d asked the woman with tears in her eyes. He made sure that his ridiculously long tail coiled around his waist three times to disguise itself as a furry belt, wanting to make himself look relatively human before her.

Sobi opened her eyes slowly when she heard a voice, one she had never heard before. Her head snapping to its location before pulling herself closer to the bars. It was clear she didn't trust him, not that she had any reason not to. However people were cruel and Sobi had recently learned about liars. That Seneschal guy was a liar, he didn't know where Sankishin was. Looking away from the man a moment as she stood up to dust herself off, she looked to the stranger with a smile.
"Hiya, yea... I just can't find the person I am looking for. A man named Sankishin. Have you seen him? He had green hair, yellow eyes and wears lots of black. He healed me, I need to say thank you."
The girl asked but it was clear she didn't expect the man to have an answer. After all, everyone besides that Seneschal guy said he didn't exist... She was doubtful she would ever find him.
"I doubt ya know him... No one else seems to know him."
Sobi stated looking out over the forest, her eyes half lidding as blackness creeped along the edges of her eyes. A darkness was growing within the girl now. But for now she was still very much alive and kind now. Smiling happily, Sobi waited to hear the man's answer.

Callion observed the girl carefully as she spoke, noting the sadness in her eyes and the genuine concern for the person she sought. He hadn't encountered anyone matching the description she provided, but the sincerity in her voice intrigued him.
"Sorry, miss, but I haven't come across anyone by that name. Green hair, yellow eyes, wears a lot of black, you say? Doesn't ring a bell," Callion replied, his voice calm and steady. He couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy for her, having experienced the pain of loss and searching for someone himself. Callion's gaze shifted, taking in the beauty of the forest. "It's a vast world out there. Sometimes, the most unexpected encounters happen when you least expect them." He offered a reassuring smile. "If he exists, chances are you'll find him eventually. Sometimes, it just takes a bit longer than we'd like."
As he spoke, Callion maintained a calm demeanor, trying to convey a sense of reassurance. He understood the importance of gratitude and owed much to those who had assisted him on his journey. "If he helped you, it's natural you'd want to express your thanks. But sometimes, those who aid us might move on to other places or tasks. Doesn't mean their impact fades away." He observed her cautiously, noticing the darkness lingering at the edges of her eyes. There was an unmistakable turmoil within her, but Callion remained composed, not wanting to pry too much into her personal affairs. "I'll keep an eye out, though. If I come across anyone fitting that description, I'll be sure to let you know."
Callion glanced around the serene environment, taking in the quiet beauty of the surroundings. "This forest seems to hold many secrets. Perhaps someone like him may prefer to remain hidden, for reasons of their own." He tilted his head slightly, studying her. "What brings you to seek this person so fervently, if I may ask?"
As Callion continued to talk with Sobi, he felt the energy and tranquility of the forest around him. Callion knew that Korin's Forest is a tranquil expanse nestled within a secluded region, known for its lush greenery and untouched natural beauty. It's a haven where nature thrives in harmony, untouched by the chaos of the outside world. The forest spans across rolling hills and valleys, crowned with towering trees that stretch towards the sky, their branches intertwining to form a dense canopy that filters the sunlight into scattered beams of gold.
The air is thick with the scent of fresh foliage and earth, carrying the sweet perfume of flowers that bloom in abundance along the forest floor. A myriad of vibrant colors splash across the landscape: flowers of various hues pepper the greenery, adding dashes of red, purple, and yellow to the sea of green. The stream that meanders through the heart of the forest is a shimmering ribbon of crystal-clear water, its gentle murmur creating a soothing ambiance. The stream banks are lined with soft, emerald moss, and small rocks and pebbles decorate its bed, creating a serene mosaic.
Majestic creatures call this place home, from playful squirrels that dart among the branches to the occasional glimpse of a deer gracefully bounding through the underbrush. Birds of all kinds fill the air with their melodic songs, adding to the symphony of nature. The canopy above casts a dappled shade, creating pockets of coolness amidst the warmth of the day. Sunbeams break through the leaves, creating an ethereal dance of light and shadow upon the forest floor.
The small walkway bridge, where Sobi and Callion currently stand, is a quaint structure made of sturdy wood, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. It spans the narrow stream, providing a perfect vantage point to admire the peaceful serenity that envelops Korin's Forest.
The entire area exudes a sense of tranquility and calm, inviting those who seek solace or wish to be one with the serene embrace of nature.
"What is your name, if I may ask. My name is Callion."

Sobi's sad smile remained as the man explained he had not seen her savior which only made her wonder if she was crazy. Her eyes lowered down to the ground as she listened to his words and could only nod in reply. She had been tasked with going out into the world, learning about it and living. She didn't understand what that meant exactly, she was to mentally immature to understand such a concept. Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought about never seeing him again. Then the man asked why she sought him so fervently.
How could she explain to him the years of endless torture at the hands of a machine, harvested for a decade for your very soul. It was not something one could just admit to. It was far to insane. Instead she simply lied.
"I was really really sick. Someone was doing bad things to me and he stopped them. He looked really scary with his teeth and black eyes stuff... But he held me so tightly, cried with me and then set me free..."
Sobi's tears were present as she remembered the past and the emotions of her release sprang to her mind. Her smile was genuine as she recalled her moments with Sankishin, how he had gently guided her to freedom and then simply... disappeared.
"I was locked away a long time, every one forgot about me. I don't know how he knew where I was... I was all alone in the dark, tubes everywhere."
Sobi's voice trailed off as she lowered her gaze, but quickly jumped to her feet before posing proudly.
"He told me to go out, learn and live.... Whatever that means! I plan to do just that, and when we meet again, I'll tell him all about my adventures! He will regret he didn't stay with me!"
Sobi confidently smiled but the unmistakable doubt was there, her eye did not reflect her braveo completely. Though she eventually let the air out of her chest and deflated slightly emotionally.
"He is just... very hard to find. I have been to east city and to west city... I've almost crossed the whole world!"
Sobi said waving her arms above her head as if it would emphasize her point and make it sound like a bigger deal. To her it WAS a big deal... she was hiking and walking everywhere. In the last few months, she had almost crossed the globe at least one time in terms of raw distance.
"Its almost... like he completely vanished. His trail goes cold with no where else to go after north city... He was seen south but no one saw him leave there... Its like he just... pops up and then disappears."
Sobi stated, unaware of how true her statement was. She had only seen her savior in passing, she had no idea who or what he even was... But she didn't care. When he held her like a father and cried for her sorrow... She knew he was a good person deep inside. Even if the outside was all scary and mushy and stuff.
"Also my name is Sobi! Sobi Udon! Nice to meetcha! I was told to meet all kinds of people, and to tell sankishin about it! Do you want to be friends?!"
Sobi asked as she became star struck by the idea, her first real friend in her life... But maybe this person didn't want to be her friend... If they knew what the machine had done to her, maybe they would think she was a freak? A sudden fear paralyzed sobi as she began to think maybe Sankishin had left her cuz she was broken... No no that couldn't be it. He saved her! She believed in him!

Callion watched Sobi as she recounted her story, her emotions laid bare with every word she spoke. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy, recognizing the resilience in her despite the hardships she'd faced. Her determination to find this mysterious figure, Sankishin, struck a chord within him. Even if she chose not to reveal the full extent of what had happened to her. As she finished her tale and extended the offer of friendship, Callion offered a warm smile. "Sobi Udon, huh?" Callion nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips as he listened intently. "You've been through a lot, Sobi. I can't even fathom what that must've been like for you."
He folded his arms, considering her tale. "It’s so good to meet you. And you know what? I'd be honoured to be your friend." He offered a warm smile, hoping to reassure her. "You're not broken, Sobi. Far from it. Your courage and determination are inspiring," he said, extending his hand for a handshake. "Your story is quite something. It takes a lot of strength to go through what you've been through and still have the courage to face the world with a smile. I can appreciate that." Callion paused for a moment, thinking about her quest. "Sankishin, he sounds like someone special. I can't say I know him, but hey, I'd be happy to help you in your search. Two heads are better than one, right?" He extended a hand toward her. "Friends stick together, through thick and thin. And don't worry about what anyone might think. You're not a freak. You're someone who's been through a lot and still stands tall."Callion's eyes held a genuine warmth as he awaited her response, ready to assist her on this quest for closure and understanding. He gave her a reassuring smile, his Saiyan pride appreciating the determination she displayed. "We can explore the world together, Sobi. Perhaps our paths might lead us closer to finding Sankishin. But regardless, your journey matters just as much. And remember, you're never alone on this quest."He hoped his words would offer solace to Sobi, reassuring her that the companionship and support she sought were readily available. Callion hoped to see at least the look on Sobi’s face should she ever decide to accept the pure-blooded Saiyans friendship. Wanting to steer the conversation towards more uplifting topics, he asked with a warm smile, "So, Sobi, besides searching for Sankishin, what other things have you discovered on your journey so far? Any exciting adventures or interesting places you've come across?"
As they talked, Callion aimed to shift the focus from the shadows of Sobi's past to the brighter aspects of her current exploration. He hoped to draw out stories that would bring joy to her and perhaps provide a welcome distraction from the more painful memories. "And by the way, I'm curious—what brings you joy? Is there something you've encountered that made you smile or laugh during your travels?" Callion inquired, genuinely interested in learning more about Sobi's experiences beyond the quest to find her savior. Deciding on giving an example, Callion paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Well, I find a lot of joy in training, pushing my limits, feeling the surge of energy coursing through me when I improve. It's a Saiyan thing, you know? And also, discovering new techniques or mastering ones I've been working on—that always brings a smile to my face."He chuckled lightly, the thrill of progression evident in his words. "But it's not all about training. I find peace in nature, too. The calm of a serene landscape, the beauty of a sunset, the rustling of leaves in the wind—it's refreshing."
Callion's eyes sparkled with a hint of excitement as he continued, "Oh, and food! Trying new cuisines, savoring different flavors—it's a delight. What about you, Sobi? Anything specific that lights up your day, apart from your quest to explore and find Sankishin?"

Sobi almost leaped with joy at having her first ever friend, her Pinafore dress bouncing with her as she let her happiness radiate through her. But quickly regained control of herself before taking his hand and shaking it firmly. She listened as Callion spoke, respectfully doing as her parents taught her, listen closely. He then said something she was confused by, her thoughts. Did he read her mind? That was so cool! Sobi's eyes reflected her joy at this revelation.
"Did you just read my mind! Thats so freaking cool!"
Sobi said under her breath while listening to the man speak. Callion had a kindness in him, one Sobi could see... Or perhaps he was just good at hiding his evil like that Seneschal guy. He didn't stink like Seneschal, so maybe he wasn't so bad? His words of encouragement gave her the warm feelings inside and she was glad to have met him. She was glad he didn't see her as a freak, and it was showing as the bird girl let out a strange little chirp of happiness at his words.
"Thank you. All the things I've seen..."
Sobi thought about it a moment before looking off into the distance, eye shining as thought of the glimmering giant lakes of the south, of the beautiful ice and of the lush forests.
"I have seen so much, so many things that I didn't think would be so pretty. Sankishin probably already saw all this stuff, but... I saw a ton of ice up north, whole islands of it! Than to the south..."
Sobi would point to the south then, knowing her directions despite having no compass or gps. Her exploring was tempering her directional sense, a small skill but one she was learning quickly.
"There is whole big bunches of lakes that go for ages, so far you can't see the other side! There is tons of fish inside them too!"
Sobi thought about it more, pointing then to the west.
"There is a giant tower to the west, its beautiful and I wish I could climb it. I tried but my arms and legs were to weak. I fell into a tree and hurt my leg for a bit. That wasn't fun."
Sobi then looked to the east, recounting all her journeys as she went.
"There is tons of hills and mountains to the east... with weird forests of wood that I don't know the name off. I couldn't break it... made for a good bat to keep the wolves at bay."
Sobi then thought about the whole of the journey so far.
"The world is so pretty, it has all kinds of people in it, some are good and some bad. Its been weird exploring and meeting new people trying to find Sankishin. Like he told me to, I've been learning stuff and reading stories. Most of the books I've read aren't really important books, just stuff you find laying around libraries. I don't understand most of it."
Sobi had seen much of the world, but her journey was to mature, to grow as a person... She didn't realize this naturally, only seeing it as an objective to complete. Even as the beauty of the world passed by her eyes, she was only seeing part of it all. In time maybe she would see more.
"You like to train and stuff?"
Sobi had met martial artists in her journey, but she couldn't use ki. Not like others could. Her soul did not allow the flow of ki and control of it. Her soul being so watery thin that a small breeze might blow it away should it be exposed to the world to long. Such was the fragile truth of sobi, despite her journey so far the girl was indeed dying.
"Thats neat, I tried to use that martial artists stuff, but I couldn't make it happen. They said I was sick. I'll get better though."
Sobi brushed her condition away as quickly as possible, enjoying the conversations more... light hearted side.
"I love food too! Though I can't eat as much as other people I do enjoy it. I enjoyed the weird foods of the villages I've visited, and its been a blast seeing the animals and nature. I love this place, I mean all of it."
Sobi said throwing her hands out to wave as she bounced up and down to emphasize she meant the world.
"I am not a fish person though, the south islands really liked fish... guess because it was hard to find animals that aren't fish. heh!"
Sobi was pleased with the conversation, happy to forget her troubles and discuss the interest mutual between them. She couldn't wait to till Sankishin all about her friend.

Callion couldn't help but be infected by Sobi's infectious enthusiasm. Her excitement and genuine joy for the world around her were refreshing, providing a welcomed break from the weightier aspects of their conversation. He grinned at her question about mind-reading and smiled warmly, captivated by her tales of exploration.
"Haha, no mind-reading here, Sobi. Just good conversation and connection," Callion replied, giving her a playful wink. “And as for your adventures… Wow! Sobi, it sounds like you've seen incredible sights! The vast icy landscapes up north, the sprawling lakes in the south, the mysterious forests to the east, and a towering structure to the west—your journey has taken you to such diverse places," Callion remarked, nodding along as she described each location.
As Sobi continued to share her experiences, Callion listened attentively, captivated by the vivid images she painted of the diverse landscapes she'd encountered. The way her eyes lit up when she spoke of the ice-covered islands in the north or the vast lakes to the south revealed the true spirit of an adventurer. "It sounds like you've seen some incredible places, Sobi. Islands of ice, towering forests, and sprawling lakes—it's like you're on a quest to explore every corner of the world. And the giant tower to the west? I'd love to check that out sometime," Callion said, genuinely intrigued by the stories of her travels.
When Sobi mentioned her attempts at martial arts and her struggle due to illness, Callion's expression softened. "You know, strength comes in many forms, and your journey, your resilience—it's a testament to your inner strength. I believe you'll get better, Sobi. Your determination is inspiring." He listened intently to her experiences with martial arts, empathizing with her struggle. "Training can be tough, especially with martial arts. It takes time and dedication. But I'm sure with your determination, you'll find your way. And don't worry, everyone progresses at their own pace."
As she expressed her love for food and the diverse cuisines she encountered, Callion chuckled, finding her enthusiasm contagious. "Trying new foods is one of the best parts of exploring. And don't worry about not being a fish person; everyone has their preferences. Maybe we'll find a place that serves something you really enjoy." He chuckled lightly at her comment about fish, finding her perspective endearing. "Fish can be quite prominent in certain places, that's for sure. But hey, diversity is what makes our world interesting!"
Callion's gaze reflected genuine camaraderie as he continued the conversation with Sobi. Her positivity and zest for life were a welcome addition to his own journey, and he felt a genuine connection with this newfound friend. The Saiyan felt a sense of kinship with Sobi, recognizing a shared appreciation for exploration and the beauty of the world. He was genuinely delighted to have met such a spirited and resilient companion on his own journey.
He was glad to see Sobi's spirits lifted, finding solace in their lighthearted conversation. Her eagerness to explore and her resilient spirit were truly admirable. It seemed that amidst her quest to find Sankishin, she was discovering the richness of life and the world around her.
Callion stood up, a playful gleam in his eyes as he suggested, "How about we continue this conversation on the move? I heard there's a fascinating place within Korin's Forest nearby. Ever been there?"
If Sobi agrees to the walk, the Saiyan and young girl began to walk. As they strolled along, surrounded by the lush greenery of Korin's Forest, Callion continued the conversation, "You know, Sobi, if you're interested, I could help you learn some basic self-defense techniques. Nothing too intense, just enough to help you feel more confident out here. What do you think?"
He wanted to offer Sobi a chance to not only share her experiences but also to empower herself physically. Callion believed that everyone had the right to feel safe and capable, especially when traversing the diverse landscapes of the world. The forest offered a serene backdrop, and Callion hoped that the peaceful surroundings would make the idea more inviting for Sobi. Callion continued, his tone gentle yet earnest, "I want you to know that the offer stands. If you ever feel the desire to learn, whether it's basic hand-to-hand combat or even some energy control techniques, I'd be more than happy to help you."
He gestured to the lush surroundings of Korin's Forest, the quiet rustle of leaves and the distant sounds of nature providing a serene backdrop to their conversation. "These skills can be tools for self-discovery, just like your journey across the world. It's not about forcing yourself into something you don't want, but rather offering you the option to explore new facets of yourself if you choose to."
Callion's eyes held a reassuring warmth. "Learning to defend yourself can be empowering. But it's always your decision, Sobi. Your journey is about finding your own path, and I'm here to support you in whatever choices you make."
He continued walking beside her, giving her the space and time to mull over the offer, respecting her autonomy in deciding what was best for her journey.

Sobi could not contain her laughter as he spoke of the diversity of life, and she saw this as well. Though understanding eluded her, she saw the prettiness upon the surface. She did love this world, but only knew how to love it upon a surface level. She was glad to be here, and found love for Sankishin welling up in her heart. If he hadn't saved her, she wouldn't be able to do all of this now. Even Callion seemed interested in her stories. If Callion liked them... then maybe... maybe he would too.
"I know we will, but I am glad there is a place for fish if we wanted to go there for it."
Another surface level look, but one that would fit for now. She heard the words diversity but to know what it meant truly escaped her for now.
"Its nice to have a choice when it comes to food."
Sobi stated as a final note to that little part of the conversation, then Callion asked her to walk with him. To which she nodded, happy and enthusiastic to travel.
"I ain't strong... not yet. When I am strong enough, I think sankishin will be proud of me."
Sobi stated walking alongside the tall man, he was comforting like an older brother. She felt at ease, able to let her guard down if but a little bit. She had met some truly awful men, but Seneschal kept her from harm when big bad people come to do nasty things to her.
"I would like to learn to defend myself... The seneschal guy tasked with watching over me, he wont teach me. He shows up to beat up the bad guys and then poofs into trees or something. He is really creepy too. I'd like to not have to rely on anyone else to defend myself."
Sobi stated looking at the ground, thinking of the very tall wolf man who protected her a few times from animals, but mostly Sobi had learned to run and hide. She doubted she could learn how to fire ki blasts or hurt anyone really bad, but she didn't want to be helpless either.
"Yes, I'd like that a whole big lot. Thanks Callion!"
Sobi stated her thanks as a cheer. She was grateful for the company and now he was offering to train her? He was turning out to be a really nice guy after all. She wondered if Sanishin was this nice to everyone too.
"I wonder if Sankishin can use ki like those martial artists do... He injected me with something to make me better, so I don't think he used any magic or energy beams like you do."
She referenced energy attacks as the over arching generalization of techniques, after all the girl was not aware they had proper names. She had avoided most people cuz seneschal told her too. Said many bad people live in the world, she had to stay away from them. But if she could beat them up! She could look in cities better for Sankishin! HA!
Sobi felt a tang of pride at perceiving herself as outsmarting her guardians. Yea, if she could protect herself, she would have awesome stories of her fighting bad guys. Her imagination running wild as she found herself imagining all sorts of scenarios where she saved Sankishin. The truth was far more... realistic but her delusion still surfaced as fantasies of getting strong enough to fight like that big city fight a while back. She wanted to learn to fly and stuff as well. She found herself unable to resist the flood of questions pour from her excited mind.
"Do you think I can learn to fly, and shoot lasers from my hands too!?"
Sobi was staring wide eyed up at Callion, clearly having gotten ideas above her station and health. But the excitement built was an understandable reaction.

Callion smiled at Sobi's enthusiasm, her excitement for learning evident in her eyes. He appreciated her determination to become stronger, not just for herself but also to make her savior, Sankishin, proud. Her eagerness to learn self-defense resonated deeply with him, and he nodded in understanding. Then there was her laughter, though perhaps not fully understanding the depth of certain concepts, was genuine and filled the air with positivity. As they walked, he appreciated the simplicity of her joy in the world around her.
"You've got the spirit, Sobi," he said, his voice carrying encouragement. "Training to defend yourself is a step towards independence, towards feeling secure in your own abilities. I'm glad you're open to it." As Sobi mentioned the injections from Sankishin, Callion considered her question about ki and energy attacks. "Sankishin might have a different way of fighting. Ki control and energy techniques are skills that take time and practice to develop. It's possible he has his own unique abilities."
He paused, considering her next question about flying and shooting lasers. A warm chuckle escaped him at her excitement. "Flying and shooting lasers might be a bit advanced, but who knows what you might achieve with determination and practice? Let's start with the basics first, and then who knows where your training might take you."
Callion could sense her anticipation, her imagination running wild with the possibilities. He was ready to guide her, keeping her aspirations grounded while nurturing her ambition. It was clear that Sobi's journey was about more than just finding Sankishin—it was about discovering her own strength and potential. "I believe in your potential, Sobi. With dedication and the right guidance, you can indeed become strong. And it's not just about physical strength; it's about finding the strength within yourself."
Callion appreciated Sobi's trust in him, especially in her willingness to embark on a journey of self-defense. As she expressed her desire to no longer rely on others for protection, he understood the importance of empowerment. "I'm here to help you learn, Sobi, step by step. We'll start with the basics and go at a pace that suits you. And don't worry, you won't be alone in this journey. I'll be right there with you."
When she mentioned Sankishin injecting her with something to make her better, Callion considered the possibility of her mentor possessing unique abilities.
"Sankishin sounds like an interesting character. The injection might have been a form of healing or enhancement. As for using ki, it's a skill that can be learned. We can explore that path together if you're interested." As Sobi's excitement bubbled over, her fantasies of flying and shooting lasers from her hands filled the air. Callion chuckled warmly, recognizing the innocence and eagerness in her expressions.
"Learning to fly and using energy techniques is a journey of its own. While it might take time, it's not impossible. We'll focus on the basics first, and who knows where your training might lead in the future. The sky's the limit, Sobi." He gave her an encouraging smile, looking forward to guiding her on this new aspect of her journey.
The pure-blooded Saiyan nodded, his expression a mix of encouragement and consideration. "Alright, Sobi," Callion said, his voice warm and encouraging. "Starting small is the key. Before we get into flying or using ki energy, let's start with something small. Tell me, have you ever felt any energy within yourself, something you couldn't quite explain?"
He gestured for them to come to a stop in a clearing within Korin's Forest. The serene atmosphere of the place would hopefully provide a conducive environment for Sobi to focus. He hoped to gauge her innate ability to sense or manipulate ki energy, an essential foundation for learning more advanced techniques. He believed that everyone possessed some form of energy within, and it was just a matter of tapping into it.
"If you can't recall anything specific, don't worry. We'll start by trying to sense the energy within you. It might feel like a warmth or a tingling sensation. Focus your thoughts inward, and see if you can feel something stirring inside you," Callion instructed gently, hoping to guide her through the initial steps of harnessing ki. And as he goes through the steps, he’d start by giving her a quick recourse in what ki is. Whether she knew exactly what ki was or not, he wanted to make sure she at least learnt something today:
"Ki is the life force energy that flows within all living beings. It can be harnessed for various purposes, from enhancing physical abilities to the creation of energy attacks. I'll guide you through a simple exercise to help you feel the energy within yourself." Callion took a deep breath, centering himself, and then extended his hand towards Sobi. "Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and focus on your center. Picture a ball of energy within you. It's your ki. Try to sense it, feel its warmth and presence. When you're ready, try to gather it in your hands. We'll start with something small, like creating a gentle glow."
He waited patiently, giving Sobi the time to follow his instructions. The first steps into harnessing one's ki were often subtle and required a level of concentration. Callion was curious to see if Sobi possessed the innate ability to tap into this energy.

Sobi's energy was still present even as she walked eagerly by his side, a skip in her step as her immaturity surfaced. A trait she could not help, she was a young woman with no outside experience after ten. Sure she was physically older, and some attributes of her personality were indeed adult like, her enthusiasm was a testament to the mental fortitude she possessed. Her cracked skin told the story that she was sick, even as the wind danced along her face to frame her features by the blonde locks of hair that was in contrast to her deep blue eye.
She wasn't surprised lasers and flying would be tough, so she was not dampened in spirit by the man saying it may be possible but he did leave room for failure. Sobi caught that in his words as he continued to speak. She would do it, in her mind it was a certainty. No room for failure was there, but unfortunately... life is not so kind. She would learn soon the foolishness of certainty with no proof, but for now the man was teaching. When asked about feeling anything, Sobi simply placed a hand to her chest and considering this before shaking her head no. She had never felt that after the needles...
Her eyes went wide a moment in shocking memory but quickly calmed down. It was but a flash, they were less frequent now thankfully. Looking to Callion she shook her head no once more.
"Not recently..."
She didn't know if that was a bad thing, but when she was little she felt it. But now... now when she closed her eyes to look for the ball as instructed, she saw only the faintest of lights. The ball was translucent and see through, barely present as it were. She couldn't see it clearly unfortunately, and eventually reopened them to continue listening. Her thoughts going inwards, she had done that many times... The light was always so dim for her, but she always thought it was cuz her eyes were getting use to the dark of the old lab.
She then took Callions hand as she tried to picture the ball within. She focused super hard, and this time she could see it very clearly. It was tiny, super tiny. And it was still translucent. Barely there, it reminded her of a single fire fly at night dancing by itself.
"Mines really small."
Sobi stated before holding out her other hand, attempting to do as he said. At first nothing happened, and so the girl lowered her arm before repeating the same motion as if it would make it come out by repeating the motion. She was doing the right feeling, but it was like air blowing from a blowtorch. Nothing of an energy source that could be used to fuel ki based attacks. She wasn't doing it wrong, actually she was doing to remarkably well. The machine having pried open her ki suppressing attribute of her soul, she was actually unleashing the "glow" by all accounts but it was as if nothing was there to give it a glow.
She felt the glow, only to open her eyes to see nothing... at first she was surprised but in her child like mind she thought she had simply lost concentration. So she repeated this, several times actually. She wasn't doing the technique perfectly, that is impossible for the girl... But rather she was open to ki release unlike any other being most likely, like someone had broken open the door to her soul and ki making her functionally unable to actually control ki. Her soul had broken, it was shattered by all accounts and mangled. The machine had been very through in its attempt to harvest her.
After several more attempts, the flesh began to show signs of breaking down. Her palms cracking as her flesh began to break down in its attempts to pass empty ki through it, but instead was like someone tensing their body up repeatedly using muscles they did not normally use. Tears began to well up in her eyes as she tried to keep forcing it. Where was the glow? Why didn't she see a glow?
"Am I... Am I doing it wrong?"
Sobi asked, looking up to Callion, unable to understand why she FELT ki passing through her, but nothing was actually passing through. Her soul was barely able to sustain her being let alone channel anything remotely from it. She didn't notice the cracks in her skin, it wasn't painful. But it was clear it was dangerous for someone with such a weak affinity of life force to continue this foolish act. Yet the girl kept trying, determined to get the lesson right. Her journey across the world had been just keep going, keep at it till you succeed... How could one understand that determination was not a key factor here, when that was all they had to continue?

Callion watched Sobi closely as she concentrated, attempting to tap into her ki energy. He observed her efforts with a mix of concern and curiosity, noticing the intensity in her attempts despite her apparent struggle. Her determination was undeniable, but so was the frailty of her condition. s she persisted in trying to harness her ki, the strain on her body became apparent. The cracks forming in her skin were signs of her soul's fragility, a haunting reminder of the torment she endured.
He could see the faint light, almost translucent, but it was a start—a sign that there was potential. However, as she attempted to manifest the ki through her hands, he noticed the strain in her movements and the distress creeping onto her face. Her efforts were met with the impossible task of releasing an energy that her damaged soul struggled to channel.
"Sobi, it's not that you're doing it wrong," Callion began, reaching out to gently hold her hands and stop her attempts. He saw the cracks forming in her skin, evidence of her body's inability to sustain the release of this energy. "It's just... your body might not be ready for this yet." He spoke softly, hoping to convey the seriousness of her condition without causing further distress. "Your determination is incredible, but sometimes, our bodies need time to heal and grow stronger before they can handle certain things. You've been through a lot, and that takes a toll on you."
He glanced at her cracked palms, a pang of concern evident in his eyes. "I admire your courage, Sobi. But perhaps we should focus on your well-being first. Learning to control ki can wait. Your health is far more important." He knelt down to her eye level, looking into her eyes with a mixture of empathy and concern. "Your journey has been remarkable, and your spirit is unyielding. But there might be limitations imposed by what you've been through. It's not a failing on your part, Sobi. We just need to approach this differently."
He gently tried to steer her away from continuing, knowing that persisting in her current state could potentially worsen her condition. Callion wanted to protect her not just physically but also from the harm her determination might inadvertently cause her. Callion decided to shift the focus away from the unsuccessful attempts, understanding the potential danger. "How about we try something else for now? Let's work on sensing the ki around us. It's like feeling the energy in the air, the life force in the trees, the rustle of leaves. Can you try to sense that, Sobi? Just close your eyes and focus on the energy around us."
He hoped that by redirecting her attention, they could explore a different aspect of her potential and perhaps find a safer and more constructive way for her to connect with ki. He hoped to encourage her, to redirect her determination toward a more suitable avenue that wouldn't endanger her fragile state. His priority was her well-being, ensuring she didn't push herself beyond her limits in pursuit of something that might not be within her grasp.
Callion gently guided Sobi's attention away from her previous attempts at harnessing ki, encouraging her to focus on sensing the energy around them. He closed his eyes briefly, taking a slow breath, as if to demonstrate the process of centering oneself to perceive ki.
"Sobi, try closing your eyes and just... feel," he instructed softly, his voice carrying a calm assurance. "Feel the world around you, the life within the trees, the gentle flow of energy. It's like a quiet hum that surrounds us." He allowed a moment for her to attempt this, wanting her to sense the ambient ki present in the serene forest. When she closed her eyes, Callion observed her, silently hoping she'd feel the subtle vibrations of the life force enveloping them.
After a moment, he gently encouraged, "Do you sense anything, Sobi? Sometimes it's not about producing ki but understanding and acknowledging its presence in the world around us." Callion wanted to guide her toward a different aspect of ki manipulation, hoping that by focusing on sensing rather than producing, she might find a connection with the energy that surrounded them. His aim was to help her understand the concept and feel the ki without exerting herself dangerously. "Try to empty your mind of everything else and just feel," he advised gently.

Sobi felt like a leaf upon the wind in this moment, her emotions crashing her against the hard surfaces of reality with the intent to teach her a lesson she didn't understand. The world was a cruel place, sobi had learned this but to suddenly have hope spring before her eyes then watch it wither like a flower. That wasn't fair, why wasn't Callion being fair? Those thats did enter her mind, but she knew it wasn't his fault. She wanted to keep trying, and maybe if he encouraged her she might be able to do it. She felt a little resentment in that moment as she was told to quit. Yet he then explained to her that her body might not be ready. So that gave her hope the problem wasn't somewhere deeper, but unfortunately for them both it was. Far deeper than any genetics could ever fix, far deeper than what Kamae the gene splicing mad scientist could do.
Sobi's soul was shredded, there was no coming back from that. Not from traditional methods, this was damage to the very essence of WHO she was. The force that gave her life, the consciousness being that was the SOUL of the individual had been damaged. While the girl didn't understand this, and by extension Callion, the tragedy that was to come upon learning that knowledge was only growing as her hope grew. Callion continued on to then say they should explore training her body, to which the young bird girl chirped happily. She felt bad for her moment of blaming Callion earlier, and that did weight on her slightly.
Yet Callion went further to try to help her sense ki, the girl closing her eyes as she listened to his instructions. Thankfully THIS was something she could do. The girl's eyes, she felt a tiny spark, not something at first. Then it disappeared, her senses were a little clouded by thoughts yet just as she was getting frustrated she would take a moment to compose herself. Taking a deep breath, she let it out in a little long drawn out chirp. Surprisingly or perhaps not so much so they began to gather around in the tree tops. Her senses reached out, Seeing out further then her closed eyes would allow. Soon she felt a tiny spark above her, then another, and another. She felt excitement build in her chest. Sure she was still sad she couldn't make things glow but this was pretty neato burrito in her books!
She felt it like a continuing chain of linking lines. Each leading to a new point as her senses did a three sixy degree scan of her surroundings with its new ability to see.
"Whoa.... Feel? See? I can Sense something nearby in the Trees."
She wasn't super good at it, actually she could barely sense the birds but she could and it was a start. It also looked pretty to the girl who then looked up to see the little sparrow looking down at her in return. Its friends all curious about this sing song they keep hearing from her excited chirps from earlier.

Callion observed Sobi's progress with a genuine sense of satisfaction. Her ability to sense the ki around her was a positive step, and he smiled as he saw her enthusiasm. "That's great, Sobi!" Callion responded, his voice filled with encouragement. "You're doing well. Sensing the ki around us is an essential skill. Keep focusing, and you'll only get better at it with practice."He observed her progress with a sense of pride, glad to see her making connections with the environment. "It's a wonderful start. Try to deepen that connection. Feel the energy flow, try to sense more of it around us." He encouraged her to continue honing this skill, recognizing that while manipulating her own ki might be challenging at the moment, her sensitivity to the energy of the world could be a valuable asset. The sparrows around them seemed to be responding to her newfound ability, adding a touch of harmony to the moment. Callion smiled, pleased to witness Sobi's initial success in tapping into the ambient ki. He knew that with patience and continued practice, she could further hone this skill and unlock more of her latent potential. "Remember, progress takes time, and you're on the right path. Embrace the journey, and we'll explore more together," Callion said, offering support and guidance as they continued to delve into this aspect of her training. Callion observed the spark of excitement in Sobi's eyes and the newfound connection she felt with the surrounding ki. Her ability to sense the presence of energy was a promising development, indicating that she might have a natural affinity for this aspect despite the limitations she faced in other areas. "Take your time with it, Sobi. The more you practice, the better you'll become at sensing ki. And remember, patience and persistence will be your best friends in this journey." He smiled warmly at her, glad to witness her making progress despite the setbacks. Callion knew that in this journey, small victories mattered greatly, and Sobi's ability to sense ki was indeed a significant step forward. "Sobi, what you're doing now, sensing the ki around us, is a solid start. Let's focus on that as your first step," Callion suggested, emphasizing the importance of honing this skill before moving forward. "Training in these areas takes time, and that's perfectly okay. There's no rush or pressure in learning these techniques. Take as much time as you need. It's all about making progress at your own pace, step by step," he reassured her. Callion understood the significance of patience and gradual progress, especially in mastering something as intricate as controlling one's ki. He wanted Sobi to understand that it was perfectly fine to take her time and that each step forward, no matter how small, was a step in the right direction. "We'll continue working on sensing ki during our training sessions. The more you practice, the more attuned you'll become to it. Remember, it's all about baby steps in this journey of discovery," he added, encouraging her to remain patient and persistent in her endeavours. "In fact, I think this will work alot better if you were to practice this on your own... Call it Homework. You have the knowledge and expertise on how to sense ki. So what I want you to do, is practice that every day, not to strain your body too hard or go all out. But about to slowly push yourself, go a little more deeper with being able to sense your ki. If you ever need me, all you have to do is call my name and I'll be right there. Alright?"

Sobi would nod at Callions words, trying to take in so much wisdom. She didn't really know how to let go of her wants to achieve something, which seemed odd she supposed but thats just how she felt. To give up was difficult, probably why she could suffer through so many years of pain. She could only brush that thought off for the moment, not wanting to think about that when she was trying to learn. Her mind did want to circle around to it often, and she didn't like it. An unresolved problem but for another time.
Slowly Sobi dusted herself off as she stood up again, and feeling good for having achieved something. If she used this, maybe she would spot her savior one day! Sankishin was going to be so proud, she could just tell. Yet as the birds heard her chip again the little sparrows would all flock about her. Which some might of thought as magical... Sobi did not think the same. She would try to shoo them off as she tried to get them to leave her be. Whatever the reason was, despite her attempts the birds were quickly attempting to land upon her.
"Ack! Leave me be! Please~!"
Her final please causing her to chirp a little in fear before the birds simply dispersed. She was unharmed, and was never in danger, but she was a mess of feathers now. The girl nearly in tears would simply start to walk away, hopefully with Callion in toe so that they could be in a safer spot. A humours sight to be sure on the outside, but sobi had found it less than appealing. She was a grown woman and held herself together well despite her immaturities. She didn't cry but it was clear she was NOT happy.
"I am gonna go find a place to clean up."
Was all the girl said before heading off towards the nearby gas station to clean up.
